OPEN AUDITIONS FOR THE PREMIERE PRODUCTION OF
SQUATTERS
an original, full-length play by Bryan C. LaPorte
presented by Troupe du Jour
under the auspices of Northwest Actors Studio
SYNOPSIS: A couple return home from a trip to find four generations of strangers living in their home. Dark, funny, surreal and disturbing.
OPEN AUDITIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLES:
CHARLIE
Early/mid-30s; angry, emotionally distant; knows his marriage is falling apart but is unwilling/unable to resurrect the relationship
THE XAVIER FAMILY:
JEB - Mid-50s; big, menacing good ol’ boy type; mild Southern accent
MA - 70s; ideally a small, frail-looking but sophisticated woman; aphasic; upper-class English accent
BABY - Young teenager (adult actor preferred due to content of play); shy, quiet kleptomaniac
The following roles have already been cast:
KATHERINE - Charlie’s wife
BOBBY - leader of the Xavier clan; Baby’s father
Please bring resume/headshot along with a 1 to 2-minute prepared monologue from a contemporary dramatic work. You will also be asked to read from the script.
AUDITION DATES: Wednesday, March 17 and Thursday, March 18. Callbacks on Monday, March 22.

LOCATION: NWAS Studio 1, 1100 E. Pike St. Seattle. Callbacks in Studio 2.
REHEARSAL/PRODUCTION DATES:
Rehearsals begin March 29, Mon-Thu 6-10pm
Tech rehearsals begin Sunday, May 2
Opening Friday, May 7
Shows Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm, Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm
Close Sunday, May 30, strike Monday, May 31
