More birthday-related stuffs.
Jul. 22nd, 2009 03:15 pmOk, the wife has asked what other stuff I want for the birthday. so I'm being helpful and posting links. Here's that last b-day post. And here's some more bits:
Ages ago, when I first fractured my hip while working in a haunted house, I ended up the whole affair with my own set of hospital scrubs (they'd had to cut me out of my own pants, so they supplied some of theirs). That old set finally fell apart a couple of years ago, which sucked, since they made such great pj's/doing nothing around the house pants. So help me, I want to get a set of them again. This time, in black. (Medium or large should be close to my size range.)
Two: A time machine, or some manner of finding enough time to complete all the stuff I'm in the midst of. That isn't going to happen, so how about a legion of stikfa workers to help speed things up?
Or there's all sorts of other things necessary to my bid for world domination. Like my own rocketship. Or a new heart. Or tea, since one cannot take over the world without it, or perhaps just a nice boardgame to pass the time.

Jul. 11th, 2009 04:34 pmIn just a shade above a month, I shall be completing one more circular revolution about the sun on this spinning ball of rock. Typically I hear, gifts are customary in response to such an event. Should anyone on here decide to go such a route, I do have suggestions (not that they'll necessarily be listened to, but we'll see.)
The obligatory Amazon wishlist. Some of it's there because I want it, some of it so I can reference certain things. You can guess which is which.
My DeviantArt wishlist. More art's always a good thing. Besides, I actually need to get some of my own prints for an upcoming show- this would help a lot with that.
beyond the wishlists, there's other stuff, like shirts from Last Exit to Nowhere. Yes, a Sulaco, Nostromo, or similar shirt (hell, anything in black) would rock, IMHO.
Basically, stuff I can either wear or feed my head with. Not that I expect gifts or anything, mind you.

Busy week, busy weekend. And it's only half over. Got to see
mahariel and
inaurolillium today at Brenna's Birthday picnic, which was, thankfully nice and low-key. Speaking of, the daughterling made out like a bandit this year: new trike and helmet, new toys, musical instruments, puppets, a pirate treasure chest, all sorts of stuff. Exhausting day of playing though. In fact, both kidlet and
plaidbrat have been deeply crashed out from exhaustion for a couple of hours now. Me ion the other hand, I have stripes. On my head. Turns out our "emergency" sunscreen (which I needed to make use of at the park today on my shaven scalp) is sweat-soluble. Which means an accidental run of my hand across my head left some spaces rather exposed. So yeah. Relatively pale, except for where I've got some nice big red streaks.
So, what've I been doing tonight?
Posting News stories on DeviantArt.
And cleaning up the worktables. The damn stock tote's almost full again. Which, of course means only one thing. Time to fill another tote.
I also finally shot and shopped the pictures for one recent arrival- my stock samples from the League of Extraordinary Bastards! Check out the stickers!

Print quality's better than I expected, and a damn sight better than the original printings were. The adhesive seems to work well also- the sticker that I attached to Lenin's rear cargo pod has stayed firmly affixed, despite driving through the worst of the rain in the last couple of weeks. Anyways, definitely worth the purchase.
Other stuff to do tomorrow:
Hook up with
bloodengel for a photo disc.
Find a new beanbag or floor pillow. Our old one suffered a potty-training related mishap, and needs replacement. (Any good suggestions for where to shop?)
Relax. Rest. Get ready for the trip of doom next weekend, which shall consist of me and a three year old driving solo to spokane to visit family.

On birthdays.
Jul. 12th, 2007 08:53 pmSo, We've got a move coming up, once we find a place. And I've got a birthday coming up. Which means, like every August when this has happened before, my birthday will get overridden by moving. Not that I'm minding, believe me. But yeah, when I turn thirty this year, probably no big party. I'm taking the day off, just plain because I deserve a damn rest, but otherwise, not expecting anything major. Should anyone out there in the sound of my tapping away at the keys decide to purchase me anything in celebration of three. full. decades. on this planet...
( well, here's some ideas. Big enough hint for y'all? )

Aug. 10th, 2006 08:53 amNote to self: Working out in the morning good. Must start fighting mulletdwarf on a daily basis again.
So, tomorrow night's the beer/birthday night for myself. 8pm at the Tin Hat in ballard- anyone else up for joining us? It's just beer- it's not like it's going to bite. Admittedly, the lights in there are a bit brighter than those in most of the clubs, and the deafening music is actually scaled back a little to the point where conversation can actually be had, so you'll all actually have to see and talk to each other instead of posing gracefully, but hey, we all make sacrifices, yes?
Lemme know if you're coming though, so we can grab an appropriately-sized table, ok?

Aug. 7th, 2006 10:28 pmThinking about that birthday of mine.
So, is anyone interested in Joining me on Friday night for a celebratory drink? If so, then speak up, please, because at this rate, I may just invest the BEER ME fund in a few 12 packs for home abuse.
So, anyone? Anyone? Friday? 8pm? At the Tin Hat?

Jul. 27th, 2006 07:24 amTime for the birthday beer report.
So far, 12 beers have been pre-purchased towards the evening, all of which happened on the first day I posted this thing. Wow. That also means that the camera's definitely coming with me when I go out that night. I may have to put in a couple other incentives though, just to see what happens.... maybe a table dance at 30 or 40 beers?
Anyways, if you want to buy me a beer for my birthday, and won't be able to make the actual celebration, just hit the button below.
For those who can and do want to make the party though, looks like it'll be on Friday, August 11th. Location will probably be the Tin Hat, in ballard. As for time, I'm still trying to figure that one out. Probably not until after 8pm at the least. Anyone interested?

Hey, Nancy, got any beers?
Jul. 18th, 2006 07:24 amOk, I've come to a decision about my birthday. Or specifically, what'll be going on for activities that day. It's really pretty simple.
I don't get to go out for beers these days. Part finances, part lack of time, part whatever. But anyways, that's what I want to do for my birthday. So, the night of August 11th (since I know nobody's going to want to go out for drinks on the 13th, my actual birthday.) shall henceforth be Beers Night! I still need to figure out location though, and I'm open to suggestions. Needs to be a good sit-down place, maybe some pool tables, with a good selection of brews. It also needs to be somewhat quiet. I want beer and conversation, not the ear-bleeding volume of a club or live show making it impossible for me to even hear someone yelling. So, yeah- beer. Talking. No special presents or anything else required. Anyone up for it? Anyone got a good idea of where?
Also, I decided to do something else a bit odd- if you wanted to come along, or just buy me a beer, and can't because of schedule/distance/whatever, just use the button below- It goes into the account set aside just for Beer Night. And yes, I will drink a number of beers equal to the number of beers purchased with that button- if you want to get me blotto, just keep pushing the damn thing. More than ten go in there, and I'll make sure to bring the camera and post pictures, since I'm sure drunken stupidity will occur at that point.
