Ok, folks. Hopefully DeviantArt will do the trick where they announce the rest of their sales for the month soon, because I'm sure you're getting as sick of these updates as I am of making them.

Anyways, this new sale, while not as cool as the 20% discount, is actually a pretty big deal, especially if you need international shipping on anything.

Why? Because from now until December 15th, DeviantArt is doing free shipping on any order over ten dollars which, if you've seen the shipping charges for well, damn near anything on DA, you get the idea- it's a pretty good discount.

But yes, that covers anything in my prints store over there, so hit the link and go check out the deal.

Wow. You can definitely tell that I haven't worked out since SteamCon. Ugh. Hate getting back into a rhythm, but at least it'll be worth it.

-------------------------------

Today is "so-help-me-I'm-kicking-my inbox-until-all-the-emails-are-done," day. That and finishing up that one commission mask that's still plaguing me.

-------------------------------

In other news, still finishing up the chips for the Gambler's case- all the numeral sides are done, just need to figure out what I'm suing for a back design, if I'm using one. the maple wood used for the chips is beautiful stuff, but it tends to discolor on the reverse side from where burning was done, which means whatever I decide to put on the back of the chips needs to not be too thick of a burning, or it'll bleed through and fuck with the numbers. And while the rustic-looking crude job I've attempted on those is perfect for this piece, adding a bunch of random-looking blotches would probably kill it.

---------------------------------

And then there's the website stuff- wait, no, that needs it's own post.

---------------------------------

Business report for Steamcon? It was good. Managed to pay for the next several events, get all the supplies i needed ordered up (new paints coming! YAY!) and so forth. now to just get enough reguarly coming in to make good on everything else.

---------------------------------

...y'know for technically being on a vacation from making stuff, this is turning pretty fucking busy. Not sure if I like that or not.

All right, it being Cyber Monday, and me having already done my gratuitous bit of self promotion earlier, it's time to promote the works of others, whom you should all go give your hard-earned-dollars to in exchange for  Giftmas Stuff. (after sending some of that my way as well, of course.)

So, from the original pair of "pimp your stuff," posts, both The LiveJournal version and the Dreamwidth version, here's some awesome highlights (and if you haven't already, check out those threads in full, as there's definitely some awesome stuff in there.

Again, that's just some of the highlights- there's plenty more in both those threads as well, for those willing to go check back there and dig around- so go do it!

And THIS, class, is totally justification for me needing this as a woodburning tool. Right? Right?

-------------------------------------------

Right. The above's for the people who (about one a month) start favoriting every single Arcanepunk piece I've got on Deviantart- not for the piece itself, but because of all those little fic snippets I put in the descriptions, and who continuously insist that I should write an Arcanepunk novel featuring all that stuff.

No. Never. Not going to happen, unless I magically win the lotto, and never had to worry about money, childcare, or anything else again. Writing a book takes serious levels of time that I'd have to dump everything else I've got going in order to do, if it means I'd actually do it well. And yes, while I do have the skeleton of a novel up in my head, I'm utterly fine if the thing never makes it fully onto the page. Besides, only ever doing bits of a book like this means I never actually have to worry about the whole thing linking up and having every bit of it work exactly right. Having small glimpses into a world's much better than having to memorize the entire world and make sure it all works.

Oh, I am probably going to regret this later when I'm reading through all the comments, but well, opinions will help.

So, I'm looking at Tormented Artifacts, with an eye towards serious revamping. The site's getting a graphical overhaul, to go more in keeping with my regular digital artwork, and because I'm getting sick of the old dead-tech look it's got now. I also need to streamline down the number of pages in general, and specifically cut down the number of clicks it takes to just plain get to a product.

Beyond that, I need input, which is where you lot come in, as I'm now inviting the lot of you to go do what everyone on the internet enjoys doing- going to a website and telling people just how they're doing it wrong.

So yes, criticisms fully welcome- if you've got decent ideas for fixing them, I'd love those too. Keep in mind that I'm not a coding genius- I use a WYSIWYG editor for doing all this- so speaking to me in programmer-fu helps neither of us.

And to compile it all, here's the two main lists it all gets broken down into:

Things I am doing:

Graphics re-model
LESS MENUS
faster click-through.
No more graphics for text blocks (necessary for hitting search engines a bit better than currently)

Things I will not be doing:
FLASH.
Going with a different shopping cart (current one's free, can't afford something pricier

So, please, go hit the site, and come back with commentary.
