So, for the last couple of days, I've been playing with turntable.fm in some of my free time (read free as in 'no kids bugging me about what I'm doing and no [personal profile] plaidbrat awake or around to question the music being played).

...I think I'm in love.

Take that feeling of discovering truly awesome new music via Pandora or other music site, combine with a nice bit of social elements, and most importantly of all- give control to the fucking people. Find rooms by whatever mood or music genre you're after, or hit the rooms created by other sites, groups, or what have you. (Though I have to say, the non-genre rooms are great for the ability to hear some new weird stuff from what people bring into it)

As it is, I've been hanging out in the Coilhouse  room a bunch, though tonight I'm going to be expanding a bit and giving the Whitechapel room a go as well.

The only bad parts I've seen to this thus far? No way to set up a list of your favorite rooms to visit. That and the fact that since it's still in beta, they're limiting access to the thing. If you're facebook friends with someone who's already in it (like oh, say, me for example) you can get in, though. Otherwise? It's bloody awesome, and you all should try it. I'll probably be back in there tonight sometime after 9pm.
