Remember they were asking the coroner, whose job it is to find out how and when they died. So from his point of view decapitation is not suspicious, it is almost immediately obvious as to how they died.
Now hopefully the cops will begin to ask questions to get the "Why" (which seems obvious) and the who and where (which is also pretty obvious).
