Mostly just an excerpt from an old poem I did- just kinda in that mood:
Home
Never was a place with these faceless grey towers,
Silicon on crystal on steel on concrete on cinderblock on ash
Never faceless people milling in their millions, stumbling about in dim procession,
trying to prove that their lives mean something.
Home was a place, and a face-
-warm voice over cups of coffee
something in between the space between
two bodies.
I remember it
-I do.
It still flashes in the space between the space between my burned out memories
-gaps in the ash-
the dust.
The music, the pulse of the city eats into me- bite by bite- wearing me- aching me.
I will not give up
I will not go away
I am not afraid
And I remember a time when I was not.
