Sigh....

Dreamwidth, thus far I love you, but our relationship needs to alter some terms.

I mean, don't get me wrong, but do you think you could maybe do something with your appearance? Just a little bit? I mean it'd be nice to actually read the comments on entries without highlighting them. But your style doesn't seem to support changing that. I know, I know, you hate being compared to other journals, but if we could just get you looking more like oh, this style over here... that would be downright amazing.

So do you think you could fix that? Just for me? Maybe ask some of your friends how it'd be done?

So odd. I guess this is not a case where you can adjust your layout font colors? Your journal is the only place where the comment/form text is bewilderingly greyed out. (Sorry, I know very little coding...)

(And if you tag this "dreamwidth", someone might pick it up and run with it on Latest Things...)

Mind giving me what Layout/Theme you're using?

I'm part of the Styles team (OMG SHOULD I ADMIT THAT?), and if it's something wrong with the base theme and/or something that can't be modified in the customization area, IT MUST BE FIXED!

Okay, go find the "Page text color" in the customization color area and change it to a more readable-on-grey. I think that's where the comments are CURRENTLY getting their text color from, but I still think it needs to be fixed--a style/theme should be draggable off the beaten bath. At the VERY least, comment text should take from the entry text color instead of the general page color.

The base layout list is the best overview, in my opinion:

And [personal profile] ninetydegrees has started making a list of styles with different features, hopefully we'll be able to make something more formalized at some point.

I guess...Modular is the closest to your LJ layout? But it's much more spaced out. ::frown:: But you can choose a right sidebar and having icons on the left as options, and reorder the modules (like on most layouts). And edit the font size in the header to be 1em, or something more like what it is on the LJ side.

I'd offer to tweak something, but I'm already wading through creating a style that has some features of older LJ styles that people miss (see my current journal style for work in progress).

Also, if you have questions about styles, or need any help trying to modify something, [profile] style_sytem is the best place to go.
