Ok, this is just a poll for my own curiosity here, combined with an odd thing that got presented to me today, which I'm not going to get into for fear of queering the results.

So, here's the question. You're in an ordinary room that is lit by fluorescent fixtures, all of which are working perfectly normally.

Poll #6158 So, what do you see?
Open to: Registered Users, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 8

How does the lighting in the room look to you?

0 (0.0%)

The room seeems slightly darker than it should be.
1 (12.5%)

You can see each of the individual flickerings of the bulbs.
7 (87.5%)

It's more dark than light, and the flickering is driving you nuts
3 (37.5%)

Other (and yes, you'd better comment if you tick it.)

CFLs don't do it nearly the same as tubes do, but the tubes flicker insanely and lead to some serious headaches if I'm under them for long. Guaranteed almost immediately when they're nearing the end of their lives and even more flickery/dark. Of course, I also have problems with CRTs at 60Hz.

Unlike your questions, fluorescent tubes seem brighter to me, although they're more likely to be filtered through their covers than incandescent brethren.

It's too bright, flickering driving me nuts, and I'm planning my escape before the nausea sets in.
