Ok, so our usual vet clinic (Carkeek Clinic, on Holman) is jammed up today with too many docs on vacation and too many appointments, and, well, we've got a cat that needs to see a vet pretty much as soon as possible. (eating/puking issues combined with fleas that will not go away no matter what we've tried.) Our vets want us to drop him off tomorrow morning, and they'd then be getting to him "when they can."

Grrrr.

Needless to say, i'd like to get my kitty in to a vet ASAP. preferably this afternoon- anyone know of another good vet's office in the area (Greenwood and 105th-ish?)

I go to Capitol Hill Animal Clinic.

Capitol Hill Animal Clinic
500 15th Ave E
Seattle, WA 98112
(206) 322-5750

It's not in Greenwood, but they might have an openineg - or could refer to you to a place that does. My cat, Qu'Appelle, has been going there for years, and I'm always impressed with the service I've gotten there.

Good luck!

I would suggest Ballard Animal Hospital. Its on 8th and Leary - almost to Fremont. But I highly recommend it. I used to work there :)

I can't remember the name of this clinic, but they're Emerald City Emergency Vet after hours and a regular vet during the day. Address is:

4102 Stone Way North
Seattle, WA 98103
(206) 634-9000

That's the number for Emerald City, but presumably you can get through to the other vets that way. Their emergency care is great; I imagine the clinic is too.

Also, there's Phinney Animal Clinic on Greenwood just down the street from Mud Bay at 85th. I've heard mixed reports on them, but they've done well by one of my cat-sitting clients.

Good luck to you--I'll be thinking of Sascha (and you two) today.

I've heard not so great reports on Phinney myself, mostly from the people who work at Mud bay. So it looks, like Ballard animal hospital as a first option, and Emerald city csecond, unless our vet suddenly has a cancellation before we get out of work today.

Looks like Emerald City is a full on vetrinary surgery by day. Definitely not what Sascha needs at this point (I hope!)

Probably right there, I bet he just needs subcutaneous fluids (Heat + Fleas + vomitting = dehydration)

what have you been using for flea control? probably need to wait until he's better before you use anything else, but there is always the (tedious, boring) option of getting a flea comb and pulling them by hand.

let me know what the outcome is... your kitties were way too cute when i saw them, i like them!

Sorry for not posting that last night- too tired after dealing with the vet and the first night of childbirth classes. Sascha's doing better- see my next post for the details.
