Ok, so I'm busy restocking some stuff for Tormented Artifacts. There's the regular supply list, which just involves me hitting the local leather and arts supply shops, and then, there's the weird stuff. The stuff I could use help from you guys with- whether it's with ideas for where to source it from, or if you just happen to have something similar taking up space in your garage that you want gone. So, here's the list:

Metal- pieces that're at least 4" x 48" x .25" (or thicker)- any kind of metal, including aluminum, though brass or copper would be a definite plus.

Parts- Any mechanical gear. Note- by mechanical, I mean actual mechanisms, preferably of heavy construction. The wrecked DVD player in your closet? Not so useful. The old broken clock or meat grinder in your closet that you just haven't gotten rid of yet? Highly useful.

Organic Material- bone is always great and highly useful. Horn's somewhat useful. Leather (of any grade, tan, or color) I can't say no to, though I do need to limit myself on scrap- nothing smaller than 1 square foot, please.

Other Stuff- Interesting scrap wood items (broken pool cues, or who knows what), bamboo/rattan or doweling of any kind (at least half an inch in diameter, and at least a foot long), heads (styrofoam, glass, plastice, you name it!), old/broken jewelry, or just about anything else you can think of- let me know what you've got!

I have a little bit of money I can put towards compensating folks for stuff, though I'd prefer to do trade if you're wanting repayment. I've also got some limited availability to come pick stuff up. For obvious reasons, given the weighty size of some of the stuff I'm looking for, I'm definitely not up for paying for international shipping on things. So, anyone got stuff they need to lose?

Let me peer about this weekend as I clean out the garden center, etc...there once were some 1" oak dowels out there.

Say, in about a month, I am tearing out an entire bathroom. I imagine a number of the 2"x 2" burgundy ceramic tiles will be intact...if you have any use for those, I'd happily save you a pile.

Will do! I am actually embarking on a beginning "simplify" binge....lots of little oddments. I will likely post little i-phone photos on my journal in the next couple days...dibs anything useful and trade or postage reimburse will work for me.

Course....we might be able to meet in the middle (like Ikea cafe) to trade off...being we aren't that distant from each other.)

Alas...I went hunting the dowels. The garden center looks rifled by yahoos. That likely means the raccoons. But they don't STEAL! But, no dowels; this likely means the odd neighbor kid helped himself when he saw all our cars gone at once.

I hope he smacks himself silly with those bits of oak.

BTW....began a mini-divesting here. A couple things you might use...a wee metal tripod and some little scarabs and a loooong tarnished silver snake chain?

They shall be held aside for you, it is pouring on me...the garden center will wait for a drier day to search out goodies there.

It is a strange little piece, heavy like cast iron, but painted over. Over at my journal, I posted a couple dozen things I am clearing out of this place. If there is anything there you could use, let me know.

And then we can give a go to meeting for coffee and I can give it all to you.

Let me check the Boxes O' Stuff, but I should have plenty of interesting jewelry bits to offer. And possibly bits of parts. Oh! And I'm pretty sure Dad still has a box of wire transistors and vacuum tubes that he could be talked into parting with.

If only you'd done this a few weeks ago, I'd have a box of stuff for you that unfortunately went to either Goodwill or the trash.}:/
