Quiet around here at work today. Either a few people are calling in sick from finally seeing the sun yesterday, or there's vacations scheduled that I didn't know about. Anyways, I'm one of only three in the office right now.

The nice part about working down in the industrial district? Seeing all the cool buildings. The weird? Wondering just what the hell happened last night- there's smoke coming from over by the docks- did I miss a fire report or something last night?

Ok, I'll own up to it.

When I first saw that it was Blog Like the End of the World day again, My immediate mental reaction was just a flat "ok, cool." and that's it. And that earlier post was a lame, flat attempt at starting off at it.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to continue participating this year. Partly, my brain's not in it, and mostly because my mind keeps saying "But we just had a zombie apocalypse last year, we can't be doing it again already, can we?"

I am an old fogey of meme-ing in this case apparently.

I don't know- I mean, it just seems to me that there's so many possibilities for a world-ending-in-24-hours scenario that keeping it to zombies feels too much like a cop-out. What about aliens? Interdimensional rips in the space-time continuum? A big ol' fog full of fucking deadly critters? Mass suicide? Good dependable thermonuclear war? The proper stars aligning in the third and seventh houses?

That's it. We need a "Blog like the Eschaton got Immanentized Day."
