Argh. Gone through all the photos, and created the new menus for Tormented Artifacts, only to look over the results, and say to myself....

Two major photoshoots, and I have only twelve designs with enough pics to put up on the site? WTF????

I need a photog and models stat. Anyone available in the near (month or so) future?

you get me models, and i get to use for my portfolio
(and we have a mutually agreeable location)
and you've got a deal.
i want to get up to seattle in the next little while -- there's this photographer up there that does ongoing stuff with trans.folk, and if i could pick a weekend and then schedule with her and if ya maybe had crashspace for overnight (ifn that's coo by all y'all), ah could do a shoot for you. that sound good?

and will you be using this all for web, or doing print stuff with it as well?

and yeah, i'm up for vampire masquerade. :) lemme check with roomies on crashspace -- i'm still new here and not sure what/if there are rules, but pretty sure it'll be fine.

Crashspace should be cool- lemme check with S before I say that for certain though- when exactly are we talking? As for your photog friend up here, do they have studio space?

Anything I get will be used for webstuff, possibly promo flyers, etc, but not prints. I'm not the photographer, I don't get to make money directly off the sale of the pictures, is how I look at it.

right, on photos i'm meaning what size images will you be using for promo fliers and the like -- i'd prolly be shooting with my little digicam, which is fine for web and small print (fliers etc) but doesn't do larger than 8x10 prints well.

the photog i know up there is actually heather corinna, and i don't know her know her -- she's all big name and stuff, and all professional and impressive. i don't have a date yet, because i've been all busy down here, but was gonna bug her ifn i got like overnight crashspace lined up and go from there.

Ah. Well, for fliers and the like, I honestly can't imagine doing bigger than half-sheet fliers, and the image would at most only take up half of that space- so quarter-page images are the biggest print size I'd be using. Anything your digi shoots should be fine for that.

Ok, check with your photog friend then, and when you can get me a date, I'll start the model call.

schweet. sounds good, then. :)

and i'll bring drop cloths and lights, so it'll be like a porta.studio. nods. all good. ...unless you've got a location you'd like to shoot at?

I most definitely do NOT have a shootable location. Hence why I was asking about your friend having a studio, since the wee saboteur would no doubt interrupt any weekend shooting here.

would it be easier to do a weekday? i know you're all working and things, but don't know if it's a duringtheweek or more variable schedule thing.

Everything's pretty much equally bad. Weekends are generally better though since I won't be spending 10-12 hours of each day at work.

and as for interrupting, we'll take it with a grain of salt and some smiles, and should be all good, ifn that's our option. :)

is there nudity involved, or we concentrating on mask/form whatnot?
could do outside shoot ifn ya wanted... seatlle's nothing if not full of parks.

Well, preferably, we can get some studio space to use through your friend so that it won't be an issue period.

No nudity. No complex backdrops. No parks or outdoors. We're talking a stock shoot here, which means good detailed shots of the masks on either a mask form or a face under even lighting conditions. The art of interesting photography has to take a backseat to clearly displaying the art of the mask, unfortunately.

To be clear here: the photog i know up there is someone that I would be working with me as a model and her as the photographer. I don't know her personally and have never met her professionally, but admire her artwork. I honestly don't see any possibility of utilizing her studio space for a shoot.

Commercial shoot: cool. Nothing unfortunate about that. If you would rather have a studio space, the best I can offer is to have you wait until you come down here in March -- I have some playspace in my basement that is convertible into a basic studio space, as well as lighting and will have higher quality equipment (e.g. a dslr) by that point. If you've got some friends in the area that would like to model, faboo -- I've also got some headforms and could probably round up a few faces for the shoot if you wanted.

Ok. This explains the confusion issues and everything. In your initial comment, I thought you were offering to do a shoot as a photographer, since I had no idea you were adding modelling to your resume these days.

Unfortunately, it's going to have to be studio space, which means it's going to have to be someone else shooting, as I need the site update done well before March.

Argh.

Ok, sorry for the miscommunications from my end.

Heh. No problem. I'm not adding modeling to my resume, per se, (though i'm not adverse to it), but looking at it from the other end of the lens... and the project that she's doing that is specifically of interest to me is pretty specialized, so.

I was offering to do a shoot for .you. as a photographer, but would be going up to seattle to model for .her. for a different project. I'm all multitasky like that.

So. Apologies all around, what with that lack of clear words from me, too.

Gargh. Meant to reply to this earlier- sorry.

Anyways, glad things are cleared up- no hard feelings here at the least. We still on for March?

(And yes, if you still need crash space to come up here for that modeling project, just let me know.)

and for the record: if you've got someone locally that would be more practical/easier to work with, no hard feelings at all. :)

Killer.

Looks like I may be setting up a shoot with Marc17, so you may want to drop a line to him in this thread here ( http://marc17.livejournal.com/131884.html ) as well and let him know you'd be up for modelling.

I could probably get the husband to let me out of the house to be a warm body to put stuff on for you.
