So, for those who missed the oh-so-subtle ninja post about it yesterday, Tormented Artifacts has now had it's major revamp, facelift, and upgrade. We rebuilt it. Made it better. Faster. Stronger.
There's also some policy changes I made to stuff for TA as well, but all that's under the cut here as part of the press release. So, I'll leave you with one of the new banners, and those what are curious can go behind the cut to check out the press release.
That's right- the all-new and improved version of our site is now open to the public. It's been almost two years now since the last website update, and, well, there's been some major revisions. Here's some of the highlights:
1: We now have a shopping cart. That's right- ordering through Tormented artifacts has become a lot easier, since we can now take orders via our paypal shopping cart. Which means that anyone can order- you don't even need to have a paypal account.
2: All new designs. For those who remember the old site, you may be surprised by the fact that very few mask designs were carried over from the old site. That's because we're doing our best to stay current with the actual designs we take to shows, rather than maintaining a small select inventory of website-only designs.
3: FREE Shipping. Yep, I'm not kidding. We now offer free shipping on all regular orders via the website (the only exceptions are on large, rush, or international orders.)
4: No rubber? Yes- the rubber inventory's been pulled backstage for the time being, for a number of reasons. We'll still have rubber items at festivals and other events, but for right now, we are discontinuing web sales of rubber items.
Ok, that's the major highlights. Otherwise, feel free to check out, use, and abuse the new site. And please, don't hesitate to let me know if you run into any problems or bugs on it.
Thanks,
Dmitri

Tormented Artifacts 2.0 is now live!

Date: 2007-01-30 01:30 pm (UTC)I just got a domain name and am in the process of trying to figure out how to build a website. I am old, pretty html illiterate, and my best girl friend,
My Etsy shop Silver Frog Designs (http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5011687) has pretty mainstream, socially acceptable, and marketable items in it. I want to use the new website to link back and forth with Etsy and to market my pagan and "meatier" stuff. (sorry, no bacon though)
Any tips or reference info would be much appreciated. I really like how yours turned out.

I've tried to shop through webstores that did that, and it just became too much of a pain for me to do, especially with trying to keep track of two shopping carts at the same time. I'd say just keep the Etsy store up and duplicate the inventory on your own site as well. your traffic may be split up between two sites, but each one will also be attracting a certain number of unique customers as well.
As for tips, well, find a good editing program. i used Macromedia's Dreamweaver for mine, though it is a bit pricey, it's worth it in the long run, in my opinion.
Re: TA Website
Date: 2007-01-30 04:59 pm (UTC)What I want to try to do is have my more eclectic stuff for sale on the new site and link the Etsy stuff back to the Etsy shopping cart. I would also like to create a gallery for people to see the kind of stones, talismans, beads, and such that I have available so that they can request a custom order.
Lots of pictures to take and things to figure out, but it's pretty exciting.

Date: 2007-02-23 04:33 pm (UTC)We can go ahead and do a meetup this weekend- how's sunday look for you?
As for the pics, we'll figure something out- do you have access to a high enough speed connection that ftp'ing them would be feasible?
