Stock update:

All the leather masks are done. One full day ahead of schedule. Phew.

Did some extra rubber bits last night, and also started a gasmask which'll get finished up tonight. Only thing is, I'm really going to have to think about what name I sell this sucker under. Mostly because as I kept staring at it, trying to figure out a paint scheme, I kept having the phrase "Bring me the brazen head of Saint John the Bastard!" running through my brain. So yes, it's currently got a nice thick coat of bronze drying on it right now. Somehow, though, I'm sure that a dreadlocked, horned, Draeger gasmask will not be able to communicate that image to anyone else, no matter how I shine it up pretty. Ah well.

Name it

"St. John the Bastard" anyways. When I was in art school, one of the best things I learned was how to defend my work. You name it what *you* want. If the casual observer doesn;t get it, screw 'em. IMHO its all about the process and what you put into it - not what they get out of it. But then again, there is the commercialism aspect of it - you are making these to sell, not for your own pleasure, so you may have to give in to the perception of the buyer. but then again, this is in a nice-segment, so maybe the name fits perfectly.

Just some thoughts...

BTW, sent the images off yesterday, should see them next week sometime. I'll let you knwo when they get here so I can send them off to you.

It probably is what I'm going with for it- after all, it's not like I stick name placards out with the masks or anything.

And thanks again on the cards- can't wait to see the final result! Oh, pass word on to your friend to include his contact info, please- after all, if these work out, I'm sure to be going through him for more in the future.
