Ok, note to scooter/motorcycles in the area. There's a big oil slick on Greenwood ave in the southbound lanes above 87th.

Wanna know how I know? Look under the cut, please.

Ok, hit the slick at about twenty miles per hour. Fell, slid for maybe fifteen feet.

These were taken just after I got back to the apartment. I had not yet cleaned it at that point. Cleaning it down resulted in a discovery- most of that blood's internal, by and large the skins still attached over the wounds, just loose. Still have the full range of motion, and moving doesn't hurt, except where the skin pulls at the scrapes, so it's just the scrapes and some bruising. Gah. If I'd been wearing thicker jeans, it probably wouldn't even have been this bad. Little bit of muscle stiffness in the lower leg. No signs of shock despite the endorphins/adrenaline definitely having worn off at this point.

Staying home today.

Ouch.

Unfortuneately, pants are the one item most people forego when riding - myself included. I wear heavy boots, armored jacket, gloves and a good helmet - but just jeans for the legs. You can only slide so far on jeans before they open up too.

I really need to look into some of the Icon Riding jeans - or Draggin' Jeans. They have Kevlar built into the weave.

How's the helmet? Did it get smacked?

Head stayed up, not even a scratch on the helmet, thankfully.

Ouch. Glad it's not as bad as it looks. I ever tell you about the time I mashed off the end of my right index finger in a press? Oh, that's a fun one.

Now I'm really glad you convinced me to get better riding gear.

ACkkk!

That's quite the road kiss.

I'm glad to hear that you are mostly okay and that the helmet was unsmashed (those damn brain buckets are pricey!!!)

Thanks for the heads up -- I'll keep an eye out for that intersection.
