And, another one of these plaster pieces is now done.....

Plaster III- Diesel by *Winneganfake on deviantART

Thing is, I'm at a loss for how much to sell these at- they're pretty much unique originals, as they're built on a positive mold, there's no way that even using a similar mold would have the same results. They're also slightly more fragile that the leather masks, as these could conceivably chip or shatter. But they're completely unique, and each one's about four to six hours of actual working time (roughly double what I spend on a leather mask). So, suggestions? If you were buying such a piece (here's the other two, as a refresher: Mad Scientist and The Antarean Rebreather) how much would you pay?

I don't even know how to price the little bones. :D

Are there comparitive examples you could come up with a rough guage against?

No really- most times plaster pieces are either assembly-line molded, or they're use only for moldmaking for other materials- original plasters, much less anything in a similar size or style, I'm not having much luck finding for a basis for comparison.

Usual guide is double materials plus hourly wage.

When I'm just stringing or sewing, I figure ~$10/hour, but with the wire-wrapping, considering how much strain that puts on the wrists and forearms, I say $20/hr.

So if you spent 4 hours making it and used $20 worth of materials, you should charge a minimum of $80.

For a one of a kind piece, that's dirt cheap, considering.

I've told you this before, and I'll tell you again- that guide's broken for anything that requires drying/setting/curing time. Case in point, if I value exactly the same as you do, I'd be charging fifteen dollars for a domino mask. The formula is broken.

How much do you usually sell the domino masks for?

And if you calculate actual hands-on time making vs. the drying/setting/curing time, what's the total difference?

Eighty bucks minimum, more if we're talking something involving multiple coats or a paint with a longer curing/bonding time. That still on just a plain ol' basic, maybe two or three coats of paint domino.
