[livejournal.com profile] jedimomma, I owe you some art. I realize you're probably busy with other stuff, but here a few attempts under the cut- let me know if you like any of this, or if I'm even getting close.

And a variant, just to show what swapping color styles would be like on these (pretty easy if you want me to do any particular color shades, rather than just blackwork)

And one other weird bit that got thrown together while working on all this- I think I want to use it for something, just dunno what:

Wow. Not for me, but those are awesome.

Er, I mean you didn't draw them for ME.

Ok, if'n you want any of those earlier designs, let me know. They're available for sale at this point.

I am very much digging on the first one. I like the asymmetry of it, and I like the cog design in this one better than the next (not sure why, to be honest, but I do); I also like the sort of flowing feel that it has. However, I also really like the "leafy" vines on the second. Is there a way to maybe bring the viney-ness of the second into the first?

I'll give it a shot. So, keep the asymmetry, adapt the vinework to it, keep the cog style (the beveled edge is, unfortunately, going to have to go though. I realized after the fact that there is no tattooist on earth who is going to try to use that part- it'd look horrible on skin.) Anything else? Like/dislike the red design in the center of the cog?

Yup on the asymmetry & vinework. No problem on losing the beveled edges of the cog--I think what I like about it is the "scoopy" nature of the edges, anyway. I like the interior design of the cog, although knowing me, I might want it in green.

I've been trying to decide the best way to actually have this tattooed on me--either as a cuff on my upper arm, or vertically with the cog near my shoulder and the vines going down. Thoughts?

BTW, did you want to integrate your signature or initials into the design? It is yours, after all, even if it'll be tatt'ed on me.

Noted.

I'm thinking long way down, but that's partly because I can't stand most typical cuff designs.

I really fell weird about putting my initial on it, mostly because it's going on someone else's body. Lemme think about it, see if I can sneak it in invisibly somewhere.

RE: initials--it's not important to me that they be there; I just wanted you to know that it's fine with me if you wanted it that way. No worries. =)
