My hackles get raised by people that claim ADD doesn't exist or that its a means for parents to shirk their responsibility. Not that it isn't over-diagnosed, but the underlying attitude here is not uncommon.
okay...I realized after a few minutes that I probably responded with more of a knee jerk reaction than was necessary. For context, I was checking LJ and saw this during a break from writing a 10 page paper on ADD and my experience with it. I was primed for a hostile reaction to anything ADD related.
yeah, I got the joke. Its just got a lot of the underlying attitudes that are prevalent in discussions with people that think ADD is fabricated for parents to strong-arm their children.
Like I said, my head is too deep in the subject to have run across that at the moment. I had a knee jerk reaction which I probably wouldn't have had at another time.
