Posting this as a favor to one of my coworkers- she's moving to California this week, and needs a home for one of her dogs. I do have her contact info, so if you want to adopt this pooch, let me know and I'll put the two of you in touch. Anyways, here's her text:

Hi Everyone,

 

Marc and I finalized a place in San Francisco over the weekend. As we suspected from our preliminary research on apartments, no one is willing to take 2 dogs and especially one on the larger size. We soon found out the reason why, ever since the dog mauling that took place several years ago in San Francisco where the woman was killed no landlords want to take on the liability for any pet over 25lbs. We have reached out to family and friends on the east coast and it is looking grim finding him a good home there. It is also very difficult to fly animals across the country after May due to heat and weather restrictions, especially to Florida or Atlanta where bth of our families reside.

 

All that being said leads me to the  fact that we are looking for a great home for Barkley Joseph-Apple. He is a Border Collie mix with a black and white coat. Barks is 8 1/2 years old and quite spry for his age, loveable, trustworthy, beyond house trained and knows a few tricks that he will gladly show you for a treat!

 

There are 2 pictures of him below and we will be happy to bring him to meet with any potential adoptees and work around your schedule. This is extremely time sensitive now as we are driving the Uhaul up on Thursday night and need to have a place for him by the end of this weekend. just in case anyone who sees this post and isn't immediately familiar; Border Collies are *SMART* fucking dogs. i have an aunt who trains border collies as TV/Movie dogs.

i almost wish i could step up here... but i really really don't think we're ready for a dog yet. :(
