Ok, so I've been doing those plates for the Book of Lost Hours over on DeviantArt (If you somehow missed the ginormous flash widgets over the last two weeks.) Anyways, in addition to being able to sell individual prints via DeviantArt's print service, I've got the advantage of working at an art reproduction company. Which means access to large-scale art printers. Which has pretty much given me the idea of doing a couple runs of ALL the plates, and collecting them into "folio collections." One to go with the book itself, obviously, but maybe one or two spare folios as well. Hell, if there's enough interest, I may take preorders and run out a batch of them. I'm still working on the pricing end to figure out the total cost, but there'd be 15 prints in the folio in total, with sizing being about 8"x12" (not sure on that, but I'm betting they won't resize any bigger than that). They'd be giclee prints on high-grade art stock paper, so they could be easily matted and framed, if that's your desire.

Anyways, that's all the info I'd have on it for the moment- time for the tickys:

I am having massive "oh damn i'm an unemployed loser with no money" issues, to go with my "shit prolly movin' cross-country in the near future" issues, so talk to me in six to eight months, basically--useless for your purposes, I suspect.

My only worry would be the price as well. I'm a poor graduate student (again) but I think your work is truly fucking amazing. I have not posted/commented much of late, but I always read my LJ friend journals.

A lot of it reminds me of the work I did for my Senior Thesis in college (I was a studio art major). I didn't get to keep any of my work as I had to move halfway across the counrty after graduating and could only take so much. Clothes trumped artwork at that time.

Price would of course be an issue - but not too much of an issue. For me, it would be more of whether or not the wife would let me hang up the prints, or if they would have to remain bound as a coffee-table type book. (Of whcih I have several - but this would be a first of its type.)

Would they be signed and numbered? I'd like to know I owned one of of a limted few copies out there.

Yes- I'd be hand-signing them on the back. Numbering, well, there's the plate number itself, which I'm planning on hand-adding to the back again, but there won't be edition run numbers unless I end up having to print more than, say, ten copies.

Given how poorly the last two have sold... probably not, no. It's just not worth the HEAVY time investment onresubmitting everything for a calendar. And the Book illustrations would need some serious enlarging before that to work for the DeviantArt calendar setup. Which'd pretty much destroy them. So no, even if I do suddenly end up with a TON of spare time in which to do a calendar, it wouldn't be these images.

I would readily buy anything pertaining to this project. If I had any money at all. Problem with unemployment and crappy job market.
