Earth to Fox News: Ok, you're officially trying too hard now. We know. You're desperate and all, but really....

Fox news: No! Seriously! It's SATAN! He's in league with SATAN!

Me, and probably a good number of other voters: ....and this is a bad thing how, exactly?

They've got less than two weeks left to bring Hitler into the picture now. Think they're gonna?

The other side has "batshit anti-homo secessionists who want to nuke ice floes" ties. I think Hitler couldn't really beat that.

They already did- Obama's charisma's been compared to Hitler's on a number of occasions, clear back into the primaries.

Grrr. That pissed me off, so I left a comment...something I'd ordinarily never waste the effort on for a FOX audience, of all things:

Many people on both sides of the election have said things they regret (or should have). Both sides know people who have made questionable decisions. Both sides have supporters and proponents who have invested themselves in efforts the rest of America finds baffling or even threatening. Both sides.

The commitment of some viewing this election to drag it into the schoolyard fight it has become is, frankly, disappointing. It's disappointing to see Americans do this to each other. It's disappointing to see our representatives in media - hired for their ability to incite on deadline, not the content of their ideas - poke at the buttons of fear, confusion, and doubt in our society in order to up their page views and spin more froth and foam out of good people who are tired of being jerked around.

This country is at an impasse. We're broke in the most important way possible - we have more debt than we can retire by all of our efforts for many, many years. We're tearing each other apart over allegations and misunderstandings, misconceptions and grudges. And for what? Our schools are failing, our infrastructure is crumbling, fear levels are at an all-time high, we're more insular than we've been, we're afraid to travel or have strangers near us, healthcare is leaving good people to suffer and die - even those with insurance - and do so in debt.

And this is what's made available for us to read to make decisions? Yet another pressure piece on someone who has absolutely nothing to do with the election or those running in it. If we're going to judge people by their friends, look around at the people we're getting information from. Look at the people sitting in Congress. Look at the person in the Oval Office. Who are their friends? Who have we forgiven them for knowing? Murderers, rapists, thieves, addicts, cons...and it's both parties, not just one or the other. These are the people who are drawn to politics, because we continue to invest in the cult of personality instead of looking for real results, real action, and real commitment to the American people.

Those who are spending their energy to create more fear for any American are irresponsible and deceitful. It's just more spin, more misdirection, more false acrimony. Leave Americans alone. Quit trying to stir them up into frenzies over nothing. We have HUGE problems to solve no matter what party or belief system we belong to. This divisiveness is doing nothing good for any of us - see how the country has fallen apart ever since it has been embraced by those who live off of politics?

Americans - say no to being manipulated like this. Be an American. Show your strength and pride by making the right decisions for the right reasons, show love for your country by choosing those who will do the best work to help restore this great nation to what it should be, what it could always have been, what we've very nearly wasted by being at each other's throats for so long.

Americans - united we stand, divided we fall. It's never been more true than it is RIGHT NOW.

Hot damn- Grace, that's really well written. Thanks for sharing that here so I don't have to go trawling through a Fox News comments page. It's a shame that the biggest part of the audience that's going to be reading that is already so polarized that they won't actually be reading it, but still- great comment.
