I think I speak for most of us when I say- "What the FUCK?" I'm sorry, but if volume's that much lower, then have carriers cover a larger area and use less carriers. Yes, eliminating jobs sucks, but so does saying "Oh, I'm sorry, we afford to do the job we're being paid to do, so we'll just skip a day."

So it will become like Canada, where you don't get mail on Saturdays?

(Yeah, it took some getting used to)

That or apparently... tuesdays?

That's one of the bits I really don't get. If you're going to drop service, then do it on a day where you've got the least number of businesses depending on you. Tuesday's only slow for the number of pieces being sent out, not the number coming in.

yeah, the Tues day thing is weird. Saturday I can see, though. People won't freak out. But during a... business day?

Are they network TV or something

Yeah, skip Tuesdays, great idea.

That way when a federal holiday falls on or is observed on a Monday everyone will go three days without mail. Explain that to small business owners who depend on the USPS to function.

They aren't going to drop a day. They're bargaining for another rate hike.
