Insanity- last week's run went really well- I keep getting surprised by the cast I'm working with, mostly because the show just keeps expanding- characters keep getting more and more in touch with each other, their emotions, the audience, etc, when normally by this time, all the actors have gotten bored with the show and are ready to move on to the next project- I'm working with truly cool people here.

The first company meeting for Taming of the Shrew happened on Saturday- I feel more than a bit out of my league. Everyone in this cast's worked professionally a bunch of times before this- me on the other hand, this is the first time ever that I'm getting paid for stage acting. I'm a tiny fish in a big-ass pond.



Diets- ugh. A nice, foamy, chalky, vaguely-strawberry like shake for breakfast, a thin, watery, vaguely-strawberry like drink for lunch, and then every ounce of self-restraint possible when it comes to dinner. Why? At the recent company meeting for Shrew, we all had our measurements taken for costumes- not that I'm doing this to be deliberately mean to the costumer, but I wholeheartedly refuse to have a 36 inch waist by the time we go into run. Hence the slimfast, and lots of exercise. And here I used to like things like strawberry quik.

It's also going to prove to be one busy week. Meeting with friends tonight, as well as a woman who'll possibly be performing the wedding ceremony, hitting EMP tomorrow to catch [livejournal.com profile] kittenbasher and [livejournal.com profile] icequeen669 doing the Kilngon thing for The Enterprise finale, and then closing up Romeo & Juliet for the rest of the week, along with several different lunchtime meetings. Insanity.

What I am starting to hear is the beginning of something that might be a little dangerous. Be CAREFUL with this slim fasting... Do it wisely and don't be too down on yourself for stuff that happens. This can end up as a downward spiral. People who do this switch to stuff that is stronger. Pretty soon you are taking uppers in the morning, downers at night, and eating fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches! (okay so you aren't Elvis)

You are at the beginning of something that could be great - don't start it out on a negative note.

Getting in shape is a GREAT idea. But you have to eat stuff. I suggest cutting a lot of carbs (bread, sugar, pasta, etc.) and moving to veggies. But you still need your protien.

Come on man... you gotta eat something. Especially high fiber - Your prostate will thank you later. Heh.

Ok, I should have justified things a bit better in the first place- One: I am still eating, mostly fruits during the daytime, and then a fairly normal dinner. I am not however doing what I've been doing over the last couple of months- eating everything in sight. My only real gripe with the slimfast is the fact that it tastes nasty. But trust me- the absolute last thing I'm in danger of becoming is anorexic or hitting a state of malnutrition- I like myself too much to do that.
