If it was something I thought was a big deal, to me, personally, I wouldn't. Period. But this isn't. Mostly, though, I'll keep it in mind so that I know why you back off sometimes when I try to be helpful, so that I'll know where you get uncomfortable, so I won't go there again.
Don't worry, I am way past the point of changing anything about myself for anybody. But slight behavioral modifications in regards to one person, when you do something that makes them uncomfortable... that's just good manners.
