One of those great moments of parenting. Alexi was napping in
plaidbrat's arms. Brenna was in the bath. I'd retreated to the porch for a smoke, when just moments after lighting, I hear my name being shouted out by
plaidbrat- in that tone of "oh god something horrible has happened!" Running inside, I enter the bathroom to find the floor completely covered in shattered glass, and a very frightened daughter.
As we thought at the time, the bulb for the bathroom heat-lamp had just randomly shattered instead of mildly burning out. After reassuring the daughter, getting her out of the potentially-glass-containing-bath, and cleaning up the bathroom, I then made a small discovery. Water. On the ceiling. Right near the heat-lamp fixture. Apparently someone decided to have a bit of an experiment in what happens when you hit a red-hot bulb with a small stream of ice-cold water. PHYSICS APPLIED! SCIENCE!
