Holy crap. Ok, just got a bunch of shots of the cards in process from the printers. Note, these have not been color adjusted or anything so their camera may be off on coloration with stuff. It should also be noted that they're still printing- I do not have decks yet, this does not mean they're here yet. At the same time though, here's our first glimpse of them as a real live physical object, and dude, that glimpse is awesome.

Things are getting close to the finished decks being shipped to me though, and once I get notification of that, we'll be switching from pre-order mode to full on order mode on the website, which means the price will be changing. So, if you want to grab them while they're still at the pre-order price, now is definitely the time.
And for those who don't have it handy, here's the link to the pre-order page again: clicky here.

Date: 2010-04-07 05:18 am (UTC)As to whether or not I'll be doing an expansion... I'm not sure yet. I know there's interest from a good number of people on it, but I'm not sure I've got it in me to do a Major Arcana run, and it certainly wouldn't be at the breakneck speed with which I did the original fifty-four cards. Right now, I'm more focused on the book and on getting the original decks finished and shipped- once that's done with, I'll be seeing abotu going back in and doing the Arcana set.
(I can however, say one thing for certain right now- the deck uses knaves for a reason- same reason that as a divination guide, it's a deck of omens- there are no pages, squires, or knights in this deck, ever. No noble heroes. This is a deck of warnings, not of happy endings- and any expansion set I did wouldn't include those cards. Not to mention that my Major Arcana would certainly not be the same cards as a Rider-Waite Arcana set. Some'd be similar (I know there'd be a Tower), but for the most part, it'd be very different archetypes.)

Date: 2010-04-07 05:22 am (UTC)The knaves piece makes sense, and it is the different archetype that attracted me to it, so I will be very happy with it regardless. I have happy fluffy decks. I am very excited to have this one, knaves and all.

Date: 2010-04-06 06:08 am (UTC)If you don't mind my asking, what printing company is this being printed at? They seem to be doing such an incredible job with it, if they have room for more customers, I'd love to be one of them.

Date: 2010-04-07 05:13 am (UTC)Ignore the lousy website design- they're great on customer service, and obviously the printing quality looks to be wonderful at this point.

Date: 2010-04-08 06:59 pm (UTC)I found them earlier in my months-long search for custom card printing. Yeah, the design turned me off, as well as the copy-writing, and absence of any straight up numbers/figures.
I might have to give them a shot again eventually. I think Bethalynne's tarot is pushing the limits of what our local printer can handle, and it is really nearing time for having them done in much larger quantities.
That, and collating these things on our own is getting a bit old.
Thanks for the link ^_^
