Or worse, they never left. I can almost feel them behind me, just waiting for me to turn around and look.
If I do, they can kill me.
I have to keep writing. Have to stay here, looking at the screen. Not looking at anything else. It's gotten colder in here. Fucking August, and it must be 40 degrees in here, with no air conditioning or anything. I know they're doing it to distract me. To get me to turn around.
Don't look.
Just saw something move in a reflection on the monitor. They're circling. At least two, maybe three of them now. There it was again.
Just keep looking at the screen, keep typing, don'tturnaroundohgod. One's touching me. hand like ice on my shoulder. Mustn't turn. Just close my eyes, count to five, and they'll just go away again. They can't be strong enough to turn me around and make me see. Not yet. I hope.
