Of course, the mantra has just as much relevance with far more than just Bon Jovi as well. Quoting bands just never quite works right.

Unfortuneately, I grew up in the age of MTV. I know lyrics to Bon Jovi, as well as Poison, Ratt, and Madonna. Although I think your idea is an excellent mantra to live by 20 years later.
