Tattoo mutterings:

I'm waffling on design issues. I know what I want in one respect, or at least part of it. Specifically the good old Bertolt Brecht quote that still rings in my head: "Art is not a mirror. Art is a hammer." I want it to th side of my arm, but running perpendicular to it (the concept being that when I'm writing, or cutting leather, or painting, I just look down, and there it is. ) Thing is, I'm not sure about text as tattoo art, or if I should combine it with something else or what. Especially since this'll be my first publically visible tattoo (yes, I have three others, but they're all normally covered by any shirt that I wear.)

So, I'm looking for ideas at the same time. Anyone got any good ones? Stuff that they think would work well on me? Stuff that works with the above idea or not? Or even commentary on the original idea itself?

bones?

Why not a graphical representation of the quote? Like a hammer where the handle/head/both is an art piece you admire? Text is hard to draw in a straight line for very long, and all fonts look weird on skin imho.
