No, no you don't- those should NOT need bolt cutters. Tin snips. That's what you need. Don't use a laser to write on a sheet of paper.

It's for the stems the damned cogs are on. Ok, possibly bolt cutters are overkill, but I need something more heavy-duty than what I have to hand, which are little wire snips.

Oh, those- two pair of needle-nosed pliers or vise grips is what I used. They break easy, after a bit of flexing back and forth.

Well, just after posting my last reply, I remembered that I had tools which were not in the house, and went and retrieved them from the car, and the world is now better, and there may be watch fobs forthcoming this evening.
