So, tripwise and everything-

I'll be in Portland next week, thursday-sunday. While Friday night, I'm planning on hitting the theatre show that blakthorne 's currently herding cats for, and Saturday's going to be con parties, I'm sure, thursday night is sitting there, staring at me like a gaping, empty void of boredom. While I may end up too exhausted from prep/trip/load0in to do anything, knowing my nocturnal brain, I probably won't. So, I ask you lot- what's good to do in PDX on a thursday night, on a budget?

there are several neighborhoods near downtown pdx that have bars, coffee houses, galleries, odd little shops, etc. (hawthorne district, sellwood, NW23rd, The pearl). If you like books, you must make a trip to Powell's (open late). There are several art house/ indie movie theatres in town. (NW 21st theatre and the mission theatre are on the west side.) the mcmenamins brothers have pubs all over the portland area. if you like beer, there are several micro-brew establishments around town.

Whatever you decide, be aware that we are starting into the rainy season.

i've had one, actually. they scared me at first, too, but the more i though about it, the better it seemed. i was down in that area a few months ago, and so went over and got one, and man oh man was it worth it! :-)
