ARGH!

So, last Saturday, while doing a metric fuckton of yardwork, I manage to nail my ankle, right on the bone, with the point of a shovel. Hurt quite a bit, but the swelling and pain went down that night. Sunday, monday, tuesday, I'm walking around on it perfectly normally, not even a twinge. Today, I wake up to bruising and MASSIVE pain. Either my body's really taking a while to get caught up to things, or some evil gnome is dropping cinderblocks on my feet in the dead of night.

...I'm almost more tempted to believe in the gnome.

Bi-zarre.

Do you sleep next to the wall? I once kicked the wall in my sleep and woke up thinking I was *this* close to having broken my toe (luckily, I did not).

(You mentioned hitting yourself with the point of the shovel. Did you break the skin?)

Yeah, it is.

Nope- my side of the bed's pretty much out in the open- and I would've had to pretty much fall out of the bed to hit it on the frame or anything.

(Yes, but I'm up to date on all my tetnaus shots, thanks to a nice scooter accident a while back)

Oh jeez... I wonder if me kicking your feet back over to your side of the bed the other night did anything to aggravate it? Then again, that was Monday that I did that, not last night.

Good thing you're up on your shots. I'm sure this is needless to say, but an increase in pain at this point could mean infection regardless of shots, so if the wound grows hotter, oozes, the pain doesn't subside or you get red lines . . . you'll have to amputate. Er, see a doc. :D

Oh yeah, trust me, I've been keeping an eye for that, but so far, just bruising and pain. No real inflammation, heat, or any secondary indicators.

Wow, that's a disturbing icon. Sorry about your foot, but Jeez, chicken, don't do that to me!

PS. It's possible you might have chipped the ankle bone. Can you flex your foot side-to-side freely? (But not without pain?) In fact, can you "circle" your ankle?

What? I have disturbing icons? Oh noes!

Can't move it in ANY direction without some pain, but it does still move freely in all normal manners aside from hurting like mad.

Well obviously I'm a bit sketchy. You should be careful I'm not cheering those cards on that don't *particularly* rock my world :-p

I'd noticed that, and I'll admit, I feel almost a little sad.

No! Don't feel sad! The whole project rocks my world like mad, I just have my favourites! The Fiji (Feejee?) Mermaid in particular is a concept of such breathtaking genius that I went all fangirly.
