Actually, I know I could do the brass framework of the skirt. Hoops, or would a spiral do? The less we have to cut and drill those springs, the better- I'm not sure how much abuse our drillbits would take- the one I used for Tempus was a general purpose one, and I don't have metal-graded bits.
It's for the stems the damned cogs are on. Ok, possibly bolt cutters are overkill, but I need something more heavy-duty than what I have to hand, which are little wire snips.
Well, just after posting my last reply, I remembered that I had tools which were not in the house, and went and retrieved them from the car, and the world is now better, and there may be watch fobs forthcoming this evening.
